Secretary/Treasurer:             Arthur Carpana, acarpana@yahoo.com

Your Board has been diligently working on a variety of items since our
last report:
** An attorney has been retained to act on the community’s behalf for
any legal issues which may arise, or when the Board is in need of legal
counsel. Our new attorney is very experienced in community association matters, and was chosen after evaluation of several good candidates
recommended.
** A specialist has been engaged to evaluate rear-yard drainage issues at several community buildings. This is a work in progress.
** Exterior lighting at the Clubhouse has been upgraded to LED for better night time visibility.
** Alternatives are being evaluated for replacing the Clubhouse entry
locking system.
** A maintenance agreement for Fitness Center equipment has been
executed; repair of the one inoperable unit is scheduled.
** Power washing of the Clubhous building and patio areas, Clubhouse
roof cleaning and window cleaning is being scheduled for mid-June.
** Cleaning of all community gotters is being scheduled for early June
(after budding tree debris is over).
** Improvement possibilities for upgraded street lighting are being
investigated. The Board has prioritized this as a community safety issue.
** Additional speed limit signs have been purchased and will be installed as soon as practical this spring.
** After considering several alternatives for landscape and snow
removal services, May Brothers contract was renegotiated and extended.
Annual Election of Directors will be held in July; there will be two
Director terms expiring and open for voting.

Residents on the go:
Rivers Edge Ladies

Rivers Edge ladies gather monthly on the 2nd Thursday for warm  friendship and good food at various nearby
restaurants. Always a fun time for our ladies, “livin’ on the Edge”.

The Caring and Sharing Club

Thanks to the efforts of Chris Allen and Laura Congemi, a new community residents’ club has been formed, known as “Caring and Sharing”. The club meets on the 3rd Friday of each month at 7:00 PM in the Clubhouse. Dues are $5 per person per month, and all proceeds go back to the community in the form of “caring and sharing” services to our neighbors in need. Club activities include:

Welcome New Neighbors –  welcoming new residents to our community with cards, sweets & treats, and a community welcome  and information package.
Neighbors to Neighbors – extending a hand of friendship via cards and gifts for those who are sick, hospitalized, or who are mourning the loss of a loved one.
Hospitality – social events will be planned throughout the year, such as pizza parties, ice cream socials, poolside BBQ’s, “meet & greets,” etc. All community residents will be welcomed.
Contact Laura or Chris for more information. Better yet, come to a meeting!

Book Club – As part of the Caring and Sharing club, a new book club has been formed. Each book club member can read the current book assignment and then meet together with other members to discuss the book, its content and your impressions. This is a fun way to explore new authors
and topics together with friends.

Regularly Scheduled Activities

Rivers Edge is an active adult community. In addition to various spontaneous activities often occurring, here are activities which occur every month, at the designated date and time.

Every Month:
First Saturday: Men’s Coffee & Bagels Social – 9:00 AM at Clubhouse
Second Thursday: Ladies’ Month Luncheon (meeting location, time and restaurant announced monthly)
Second Friday: Men’s Poker Night – 7:00 PM at Clubhouse
Third Friday: Caring & Sharing Club meeting – 7:00 PM at Clubhouse
Last Saturday: Ladies Coffee Social – 9:00 AM at Clubhouse
Every Monday and Friday:  Balance and Fitness Class at Clubhouse – 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM.

The majestic Delaware River is right in our back yard, just waiting for our residents and our guests to take full advantage – whether that be fishing, tubing, kayaking or canoeing. Our access to the river is via the ramp behind building 7 and behind the West end and rear of the Clubhouse.

Superbowl LIII 2019

Whether you were a Patriots fan or a Rams fan, or just there for the fun, our annual Superbowl party at the Clubhouose, hosted by Bonnie and John Matthews, was a huge success.  Food was sumptuous and drinks were delicious, but best of all was the great fun we always have at our Rivers Edge parties. And for 3 lucky winners of our superbowl game time pool, it was even a bit financially rewarding!

Please note that all home sales information and home warranty issues should be brought to the attention of the developr (contact info below). Interest in our Rivers Edge community continues to be strong with additional sales made even during the normally dormant winter months. In the new building # 8 on the river (now in final finishing stages) 5 of the 6 units are under contract, with 1 interior unit still available. New building # 10 across the street on Mcintosh (now being framed) already has 3 untis sold (2 interior and 1 end-unit). Plans are in place to break ground for another new building (# 12, on Macintosh) early this spring, as soon as the necessary permits are secured.

Building # 23, the 400 block on Braeburn Path, has 3 new interior units now occupied and another
interior unit under contract. The two end units in this building are still available, and one of those (# 410) is being finished as an upgraded  “spec” home which will be listed for sale very soon.

Don’t forget the “Friends and Family” program, which offers you 1 year’s free Association fees if you bring a qualified friend or family member to the sales office for the first time, resulting in a sale. See Geoff Pitcher for plan details.
