HERE WE GROW AGAIN AT RIVERS EDGE COMMUNITY

HERE WE GROW AGAIN!

Rivers Edge new construction

Construction is proceeding rapidly now on new building #23, which will house 6 new town house units. Scheduled for occupancy to start next spring, 3 units have already been sold in the latest addition to Braeburn Path in beautiful Rivers Edge. The sales market is hot now, so the newest addition will mean we’ll soon be welcoming more and more new residents to our place on earth.

Halloween Costume Party at Rivers Edge-A GREAT TIME WAS HAD BY ALL

Bonnie and John Matthews hosted a spectacular Halloween Costume Party at the Clubhouse on October 28th. The food – all provided by Bonnie and John – was magnificent, as were the decorations which put everyone in the festive “party hearty” mood. If you missed this one, you missed a great time!! Here are some photos:

Community Tidbits

** Tom and Maureen Burke are back from their European river trip which, among other cities, included Paris and London.

** Jeff Strunk is currently in London visiting his sister’s family and (what else) minding their dog while they are out of town for a wedding.

** Lee Kenny’s grandson Logan just finished a photo shoot for Target and The Gap for holiday print ads.

** Happy to see Marie and Joe Malak taking a stroll and looking good. GOD BLESS YOU BOTH

**A Big thank you to Bonnie and John Matthews for hosting out spectacular Halloween party at our Clubhouse. So much time, thought and effort went into making it a huge success enjoyed by all (see pictures in another section).

** Sorry to hear that Nydia Rivera’s family farm in Puerto Rico sustained damage during hurricane Maria. Please keep them and all who suffered and still are suffering, in your prayers.

Outings & Events

WE MAY BE SENIORS, BUT WE’RE AN ACTIVE BUNCH!

The good times continue! Since our last newsletter was published, group outings have included 2 shows at Shawnee Theater – one in September and another in October – followed by dinner at Alaska Pete’s and the Gem & Keystone in the Shawnee/Marshall’s Creek area; and of course our big gathering was the Halloween Costume Party in October.

Many of our outings are planned and some are spontaneous, but all residents are always welcome. If you’d like to be notified when a spontaneous lunch or diner outing “pops up”, let us know. And look in the Clubhouse and watch your e-mail for announcements.

Here are some photos of our outings and gatherings:

Meet Your Neighbors

New residents Laura and Salvatore Congemi moved here 4 months ago from Woodhaven, (Queens) NY. They purchased John and Angela Stancarone’s townhouse at 608 Braeburn Path.

Sal grew up in Kensington, Brooklyn and Laura grew up in Glendale, Queens. They have one daughter Nicole who recently married Chris Prosa. Nicole and Chris just bought their first house in Slate Hill, NY.

Sal plays the Bass Guitar and has done so for over 50 years.  He continues to play with other musicians here in Pennsylvania.  Sal is retired from Green Bus Lines, which is part of the NYC Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA). Laura retired 2 years ago from the U. S. Postal Service with 32 years of service.  Both Laura and Sal love it here at River’s Edge, and also love living in this area of Pennsylvania.

Community Living

Community living works best when everyone follows the covenants & adopted rules. As a gentle reminder, each issue of the newsletter will highlight one or two of Rivers Edge’s regulations.

New Ladies Craft Club

All Rivers Edge ladies are welcome at the new Ladies Craft Club, which meets every Thursday evening at the Clubhouse between 7:00 PM and 9:00 PM. If you knit, crochet, or have any other craft you enjoy and would like to share, contact Georgy Soojian or Kathleen Bobish, or just come to the Clubhouse on the evening the club meets.

Automobiles

“… no owner shall cause more than (2) vehicles per unit owned or leased by him, or membersof his household or lawful users of the unit, to be parked by his unit …”

“No repair work on automobiles or mechanical vehicles, or any other like work, shall be performed by any Unit or any Common Area.”

Congratulations

Congratulations to Mark and Alice Nash, who are welcoming their first grandchild.  What a special and beautiful blessing grandchildren are!

Guess Who???

Ruth Leech guesses correctly that the cute little lady in last issue of the newsletter was none other Bonnie Mathews.  For her efforts, Ruth won a PA State lottery $2.00 scratch off ticket.

And now for this issue’s adorable child.  Can you guess who this cute little equestrain is?  Submit your guess by responding to binky107@earthlink.net.  The first correct guess received via email will get a PA Lottery Scatch Off.

Developer’s Corner

Construction work on new building # 23 is progressing rapidly, with framing expected to be done by mid-November. Three units in this building have already been sold, with occupancy expected to start next spring.

The foundation is now being dug for building #24, directly across Braeburn from building 23 (now being framed).  Weather permitting the plan is to finish foundation and infrastructure work for building #24 this winter, with framing to start as soon as possible thereafter.

All units in riverside building #7 have now been sold (one unit was a “Friends & Family” sale). Building #25 (500-510 Braeburn) is also sold out.  Unit $500 will become the new home of Paul & Vita Sarvaideo, with occupancy targeted for late December or early January.  Conditions permitting, construction of another river unit (building #8) is expected to start in the spring, followed by building #10.  Both of these new buildings will be on Macintosh.

Century 21 Geba Realty reports that interest and demand has been very high. Unit prices have been raised slightly but pricing is still viewed as attractive by potential buyers.  Sales traffic is very high with meaningful buyers.

Friends & Family Sales Incentive

The Rivers Edge developer’s “Friends & Family” incentive program provides residents who bring or refer a new prospect to the sales office with a generous financial reward if that prospect purchases a new unit in Rivers Edge. The prospect must not have previously interacted with the sales office, and must be verified as being referred by the resident.

The developer reports that resident response to this new program has been encouraging. As a reminder, the developer will pay the referring resident’s monthly HOA dues for one year if the referral results in a sale. Please contact Geoff Pitcher for additional details

The Rivers Edge Newsletter is published bi-monthly for community residents enjoyment and information.  Comments, suggestions and news items can be emailed to rusty107@earthlink.net
